Table of Contents
1. Father’s Day Coupons
Have you made homemade coupons or vouchers before? They work so well for Birthday’s and special occasions such as Father’s Day. They’re perfect as a last minute DIY gift too.
Create a booklet of coupons that your dad can redeem for things like a car wash, a home-cooked meal, or a quiet hour. You can give them as single coupons in an envelope, or staple/hole punch them into a book.
They are easy to make yourself or if you want them to look more professional, purchase a template that you can print at home (and edit online first if you like!).
2. Handprint & Footprint Art Crafts
This is so much fun to do with babies and small children. Use paint to make a footprint or handprint on a piece of paper or card.
This is a lovely way to create a personalized keepsake gift for dad. You can all look back in the years to come and remember how cute their hands and feet were!
Here’s how to get best results:
- Have a practice run or two first
- Use good quality but safe, non-toxic paint which is quite thick, rather than runny
- Use paper or cardstock/thin card
- For hands, place their palms down first (fingers tend to space up automatically this way)
- For feet, ensure the child is standing up
- Add the child’s name and age, so this can be looked back on in future!
There are lots of fun ideas you can use as a template, where the hand or foot becomes part of a design e.g. the legs of an animal’s body. You can even buy a bundle to make dad a selection! Make a card or poster out of it or frame it for an extra special touch.
3. Homemade cards
Kids can use paper, markers, stickers, and other craft supplies to create a unique and special card for their dad. Children of all ages can enjoy making dad a card and decorating it in their own style.
You could use the handprint or footprint idea above or older children can show off their art or joke skills!

4. All About My Dad Letter
Older children can write an all about my dad letter with all his favourite things to do and their best memories. And you can help little ones with their letters.
The end result will be a gift that dad will cherish, and likely make him really laugh!
5. Personalized Mug
Personalized gifts make us feel special, so consider a bespoke mug as one of your thoughtful Father’s Day gifts.
You can buy a plain white mug and decorate it with paint or markers to create a unique gift for dad. If you have more than one child, they can each create one so he has plenty of choice!
Children can draw on the mug, add a favorite quote or phrase of his, or other special message.
6. DIY Coasters
What about a personalized coaster to go with the mug? Create custom coasters using cork, paint and other materials. You can add a design or message that resonates with dad.

7. Homemade Baked Goods
Bake your dad’s favorite treats such as cookies, brownies, or a cake. You can decorate them with his favorite colors or add a special message with frosting.
Even younger children can help mixing the batter or decorating cookies in their own unique style!
8. Customized Photo Album
Create a photo album or scrapbook, filled with memories of special moments of your child/children with their dad. You can customize it by adding captions, quotes, and other details.

Homemade cards are always the cutest thing, and they make a great keepsake for Dads. I love the idea of a memory jar that already has a few things in it and with a nice note/card about filling the jar up over the next year. So many lovely ideas!

It’s always so hard to think of Father’s Day gifts. My husband always says he doesn’t want anything, so it’s good to have some new ideas. Maybe we can get a few of these done once school is out.
